As we prepared for our next Let’s Talk Let’s Listen as we learn about the history, present, fire damage, and future plans and how the community can walk beside them. Thank you to Greenline Housing's Jasmine, Remy of Morena Strategies, Demitrius, and My Tribe Rise's Heavenly Hughes for moderating and starting the conversation about land trusts and the complexities. Thank you to the Pasadena Job Center for the delicious food and Radio Jornalera for live streaming. Thank you to our Spanish translators Ada and her team. As the series deepens we will return to land trusts and have a session with those who have been doing it for many years and the lesson learned and the benefits for communities. WE ARE STRONGER TOGETHER ON THE JOURNEY TO JUSTICE REVEALED

Thank you to the elected officials who came and their reps -- Senator Sasha Renee Perez, Pasadena Mayor Victor Gordo, and Vice Mayor Jess Rivas. Pasadena is grateful for everyone who invested their time to community.
Yesterday celebrating the League of Women Voters 105 year birthday -- the Pasadena branch had a beautiful Galantine celebration. Sending postcards to elected officials all over the country to demand justice!

A Night of Unity and Action hosted by Planned Parenthood (SGV), a night to break bread with friends for we have had one hell of a start to 2025. To hold on we need each other to cry and laugh and WE will get through!
This morning our Co-Chair Pablo Alvarado from NDLON and the Pasadena Job Center brought the community together in solidarity. As the White House went only to the Pacific Palisades, Pasadena community stakeholders spoke in UNITY and STRENGTH. Thank you to Mark Chase for prayer and rapping truth to power. Thank you to Vice-Mayor Jess Rivas for acknowledging the work of the workers and volunteers. Thank you to Angelica Salas for speaking heritage and turning pain into power and Jon DeCuir for declaring that we begin in the journey of 11 million acts of kindness. Other community stakeholders were present -- it was a One Pasadena/Altadena sight to see!
POP! Co-Chair and Co-Executive Director of NDLON Pablo Alvarado at the Pasadena Job Center this morning with Councilmember Tyron Hampton as the center over this weekend has had over 1,000.00 volunteers. The Councilmember took a tour with Julieta Aragon showing their extensive operation to help Pasadena and Altadena residents displaced by the fire.
Board member Juliana Serrano at The Armory Center for the Arts, making space for folks to collage their thoughts and feelings in a very heavy season for some creating their own beauty a great night of resistance and rest.
Last night each The Institute Cohort 4 brought their A game and presented with excellence their vision to bring to our community project after project that will bring great impact into our community! Thanks to Hutch’s Barbecue of delicious food. The Institute is a community-driven approach to creating sustainable solutions that prevent community violence. Thank you to the facilitators for the past 10 weeks for investing your expertise. The Institute provides leadership development and training that empowers participants to understand community violence and its root causes. To empower and equip the leader from within to create networks and relationships that create community power. Big shout out to Core PCC! Thank you to the City of Pasadena for recognizing each cohort with a certificate.
