Liberty Hill Foundation did it so beautiful today for their day of connection and wellness. Submerging us in massages, tai chi, sound baths, healing circle, a quiet room if needed for meditation and prayer, flower arranging and making herbal teas. A retreat so needed for many organizers around LA. Grateful.

Last night the Clergy Community Coalition introduced the community to their new offices on the third floor of FBC Baptist church. Place to work, convene, rest and pray. We got to see the CCC short film.
All over Altadena there are groups planning to bring folks together for the anniversary of the Eaton fires. At Zorthian Ranch up in Altadena they will be creating space on January 11th for live music, healing spaces and bringing community together to understand a milestone that no one wanted but has built people power in a way that has been amazing this year. The journey to justice will be long but WE ARE STRONGER TOGETHER
In Minneapolis at the NACOLE conference volunteering at registration and who walks up, our Pasadena City Attorney/Prosecutor Michelle Bagneris. The highlight was the Keynote Speaker of the conference Minnesota Attorney Generally Keith Ellison. He spoke on George Floyd and how not only it affected his office and city. One takeaway was when he said we can fight for training all day long but the officer Chauvin had lists on lists of training but other than getting paid he had not applied any of them. So the main thing is to change the culture inside police force.
Both our co chairs Pablo Alvarado and Brandon Lamar who convened a meeting this afternoon with Supervisor Kathryn Barger came to visit the Pasadena Job Center to hear about the work they have been doing and also hear the stories of survival and resilience and take questions from other community members a new beginning of listening on the journey of justice to rebuild Altadena and Pasadena.
POP Co Chair Brandon Lamar who is on the team that brought together for the community Eaton Fire Collaborative Center. A space that is housing a one stop resource for all impacted by the fire. This has been a labor of love by some great community minded folks, groups and orgs like Day One, BGC Pasadena, Go Stars and many more. WE ARE STRONGER TOGETHER!
Our POP Board member Jose Madera representing the Pasadena Job Center with Los Angeles mayor for the reopening of Casa Gateway. The workers were important part of the rebuilding.
This morning Senator Sasha Renée Pérez was finally formally sworn in at the newly renovated Sexton Auditorium at Pasadena City College, and the MC for the event was our board member Juliana Serrano and for the invocation Clergy Community Coalition's Mayra Macedo-Nolan. It was a great event full of the political movers and shakers around her district. She has been doing the work and facing community head on -- let the great work continue.
Last night some of POP’s board members and POP Co-chair attended the Liberty Hill Foundation gala which was a force of gathering grassroots organizing organizations around LA who ARE DOING THE WORK! Highlighting them and hearing the great work they are doing. The keynote speaker Deepak Bhargava spoke hope and solutions. POP is humbled to be in such company of those like ourselves on the frontlines of social justice work.
We celebrated Cesar Chavez Day the right way! We stood in solidarity with our friends and co-laborers to uplift their voices and declare justice for all. With the resistance and more than hope music of Los Jornaleros del Norte and Pasadena Job Center.
