Co-Chair Brandon Lamar standing in solidarity! This morning, we supported workers in deliberation at our local Pasadena Food 4 Less as they continue to fight for fair pay wages. We all knows the cost of living is very expensive, so we are doing what we can to ensure people get the pay they deserve.
The Liberty Hill Foundation Road To Change fundraiser at the Skirball Cultural Center as grassroots organizations were uplifted and celebrated. Those who truly support the work of social justice in Los Angeles and beyond their investment is priceless to change laws, polices and mindsets.
Candidate Forum Senate and Assembly. Thanks to all the local leaders and organizations who came together: Clergy Community Coalition, Day One, Pasadena Community Job Center, Radio Jornalera, Pasadena Complete Streets Coalition, and Patrice Marshall McKenzie.
Board members old and new were in attendance! Great time was had at the Pasadena Job Center last night at their “Dinner with their Allies” as they broke bread and spoke about their 2024 campaigns. Thanks to a great event the whole team: Radio Jornalera, Pablo Alvarado, Crystal Aceves, and Julieta Aragon.
For the past three weeks POP has been canvassing the NW with our “Get Out The Vote” flyers in English and Spanish!
With the collaboration of Pasadena Job Center, their great team of canvassers are going door to door. We have many who have still not registered or who are registered but don’t know the process about mail in and election sites KNOW you can even register at a site on Election Day. Any info needed to register please use the QR code on the flyer. Five days before mail in ballots drop and 34 days till Election Day, let your vote be a part of the process that will affect our community's future! Board members old and new! When arts meet the struggles, triumphs and pain of community and collaboration takes place as @armoryarts set the stage to hear the journey of the making of the mural hearing from those who invited their gifts and voices to create a lasting community piece and at @pasadenajobcenter we could carry on creating dishcloths that spoke to on going conversation of social justice. Thank you to the artists, thank you to the many partners thank to how important art is in our lives when we weave our stories together.
What better place to be on New Years Eve but to stand in solidarity with Unite Here Local 11 and the workers of Hilton and Hyatt hotels! This has been a long journey and they will WIN! Thanks to Mary of Unite Here for organizing.
Christmas in Dena! What a great event with Brandon Lamar, Heavenly Hughes, and My Tribe Rise last Saturday. So many families were blessed and a beautiful vibe all the way around.
Tonight was so much fun at Gamble House for Tyron Hampton annual Christmas walk and caroling. A great community event with John Muir cheerleading squad, Crown City Drum Squad did their thing and gospel choir SANG down with cookies and cocoa. Yes, it is looking a lot like Christmas.
