Meet Our Board

PABLO ALVARADO (POP Co-Chair) co-founded the National Day Laborers Organizing Network (NDLON) in 2001 and is the Co-Executive Director. He has been awarded multiple honors and recognitions including the Next Generation Leadership Fellowship from the Rockefeller Foundation. In August 2005, he was recognized as among the 25 most influential Hispanics in the U.S. by TIME Magazine.

BRANDON LAMAR (POP Co-Chair) is the Chair of the Human Relations Commission and serves on the Executive Boards of Pasadena NAACP, Leadership Pasadena, and Black Los Angeles Young Democrats.

FLORENCE ANNANG (POP Lead Organizer) is the founder of Thrive Learning Lab NW Pasadena, Executive Member NAACP Pasadena Branch, and a Pasadena Police Oversight Commissioner. 

CRYSTAL ACEVES is the owner of Der Wolf restaurant & lounge in Pasadena. Crystal is an ardent supporter of local businesses and organizations.

MARK CHASE is an Associate Rector of All Saints Church. Mark is also a poet, writer, and rapper who believes art plays a pivotal role in the restoration and healing of the world.

RICK COLE ​​​​served as the Mayor of Pasadena during his twelve year service as a City Councilmember (1983-95) and went on to serve as City Manager in three California cities: Azusa, Ventura and Santa Monica. He also served as Deputy Mayor for Budget and Innovation for the City of Los Angeles. He is currently the Chief Deputy Controller of Los Angeles and District 5 Planning Commission Commissioner.

CHARLOTTE LACEY is the Chair of Pasadena’s Commission on the Status of Women, the Vice President Legislative and Government Affairs for the Pasadena Chamber of Commerce, and works at Pasadena Humane.

JOSH McCURRY is the Executive Director of Flintridge Center, a Pasadena nonprofit dedicated to breaking cycles of poverty, violence, and incarceration. 

KRIS OCKERSHAUSER ​is a long-time activist in Pasadena with the ACLU SoCal Pasadena/Foothills Chapter, where she heads the Police Practices Committee. She is also involved with ACT and CCICOP (Coalition for Increased Civilian Oversight of Pasadena Police.

JULIANA SERRANO is the Vice President of Advocacy & Equity at Planned Parenthood Pasadena and San Gabriel Valley (PPPSGV) and Vice Chair Pasadena Police Oversight Commission.
