OUR MISSION:
We are dedicated to ensuring policing in Pasadena is fair, transparent, and accountable. We empower community members to participate in shaping policies and monitoring police practices that uphold constitutional rights, eliminate bias, and ensure transparency.
our goals include:
- Securing constitutional policing by advocating for policies that protect civil liberties and ensure fair policing.
- Eliminating biased policing by working to identify and eliminate discriminatory practices in law enforcement.
- Ensuring citizen input on surveillance technologies by mobilizing residents to have a say in the acquisition and use of surveillance tools, with final decisions made by City Council.
- Promoting police transparency and accountability by advocating for clear reporting and community oversight of police actions.
The Coalition for Increased Civilian Oversight of Pasadena Police (CICOPP) regularly meets to strategize and push for reforms that create a more just and accountable police force. Together, we hold city leaders accountable and ensure that Pasadena's policing serves the entire community.
