Mission: Pasadenans Organizing for Progress is a multi-issue community organization whose mission is to make Pasadena a more just, fair, and inclusive city.
Our Objectives
- Immigrant rights and protections
- POP! confronts the immigrant deportation crises head-on, working to connect and train people, making sure everyone knows their rights, and making Pasadena a safe city for all.
- Affordable housing
- We focus on organizing and educating community members to achieve public policy changes around the issues of housing justice and housing as a human right.
- Reform of police practices
- We secure constitutional policing; eliminate biased policing; and require citizen participation in acquiring surveillance technologies, with final decisions to be made by City Council.
- Workers Rights
- We engage, organize and mobilize workers, volunteers, community, faith, and labor leaders to ensure that every worker in Pasadena receives a livable wage and has their rights protected.
- Voter enfranchisement
- We educate and empower community members about their voting rights, ensuring everyone has access to their ballot and understands the importance of their participation in the democratic process.
- Education
- POP! advocates for equitable education in Pasadena, ensuring all students have access to quality learning. We work to promote necessary reforms and foster supportive environments that enhance academic success for every student.
