JOB TITLE: Executive Director
REPORTS TO: POP! Board of Directors through Board Co-Chairs
SUPERVISES: Lead Community Organizer, Contractors, and Volunteers
POSITION SUMMARY: Pasadenans Organizing for Progress is a multi-issue
community organization whose mission is to make Pasadena a more just, fair,
and inclusive city. The Executive Director has overall operational responsibility
for POP! Operations, programs, and fulfillment of the mission. The Executive
Director works with the Co-Chairs and Board of Directors to develop and
implement long and short-term strategies. The Executive Director leads all
development efforts and is a key interface with the community and financial
supporters. The responsibilities and duties of the Executive Director are varied
and may change based on the needs of the community and the direction of
the Board.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Overall Management:
• Manage initiatives, programs, and events consistent with the mission
and goal of POP!
• Manage all contracts and grants including creating financial reports.
• Manage all staff, Organizers, Contractors, and Volunteers
• Support the board in the creation of the Strategic Plan
• Responsible for logistical arrangements for Board meetings, community
meetings, and all events
• Manage and Assist in the recruitment of volunteers and organizers.
• Maintain records and documents, and ensure compliance with federal,
state, and local regulations.
• Manage all committees that are under the umbrella of POP!
• Maintain working knowledge of City Government and Commissions.
Development and Community Engagement:
• Oversee and manage all fund-raising efforts and reporting methods to
contractors, including but not limited to, annual fundraising plans, grant
applications, corporate donations, special events, and individual
donations.
• Establish relationships with community leaders and policymakers,
foundations, business, and labor funders, major donors, and
governmental officials.
• Establish collaborative working relationships and cooperative
arrangements with community organizations and local media outlets.
• Be a visible representative of POP! at community events to further POP!
mission and goals.
Compensation: $60,000 - $75,000
